3 Decorating Tips you can use today!
I recently decided to redecorate a space in my home. I sent my future sister in law a picture and said help/wish me luck hahaha. She's got great style and loves to design like me! Her suggestions were so great and we really made my space feel more peaceful and inspiring! I have been watching Interior Design Videos lately and it has inspired me to get my house together! Sometimes all we need is a little inspiration to help us live a more enjoyable life. We forget how important it is to have beautiful simple surroundings. You can feel like your on vacation at home.. you really can. Here are 3 tips i've picked up recently to help you takle your space!
1. Whenever you decide to redecorate, clean, or rearrage a space, you always want to do this first....
REMOVE EVERYTHING FROM THE SPACE!
Take everything off the walls, remove all items
from surfaces and pull away furniture if possible.
Start with a clean blank slate.
This will allow you to create new ideas and
only put back what you REALLY love and use.
(Keep it minimal)
2. After you put everything back that you love and use, you will have a pile of decor and stuff you dont need in that space anymore. Recycle your own decor by storing your favorites in a cabinet put away somewhere. Im talking about having a designated shelf or closet for decor items you dont use anymore. Each time to decide to redo a space, you can decorate using those items in new ways! I love to shop my decor instead of going out and buying something new! You loved it for a reason when you aquired it,
so let it rest and then give it new life again later!
3. Take a picture of your space before and after. When you take a photo you can really see what you have in front of you. We get so blinded by our own clutter we don't notice things anymore. Taking a photo will really help you declutter and have the space of your dreams. I like to take a picture when I think i'm happy with a space and really see if I need to adjust anything. I usually do! It's like getting a second opinion haha.
