Just get started
Back when I kept asking myself, WHAT CAN I DO? WHAT CAN I SELL? WHAT CAN I MAKE?" I was overlooking the fact that I was already doing what I needed to be doing. I was trying out little things here and there. I was falling in love with taking pictures. I knew I loved art, so I was painting. I was decorating each new apartment I'd move in to. I was helping my friends decorate and dreaming of owning a business one day. I tried to sell canvas art at a market, and I made my own little facebook page to post art related content. It didn't seem to be going anywhere. I was told by close ones that it was only a hobby and just for fun. I wasnt supposed to spend too much time or money on something that wasnt IMPORTANT. I felt defeated most of the time and like something was missing. Still feeling empty and missing the whole point. I was on my journey. I was in the begining when its hard and when people dont see the potential. Not even me. It felt scary and felt so far away. I put it down for a couple years.
When I mentioned shit hit the fan and I was alone in this beautiful home I worked hard to get.. i started painting again. This was the one thing that made me so happy regardless of failing before. I began doing things I hadnt tried before like working on my self developement and doing one thing each day towards my dreams. I started playing podcasts about how I can be my best version. I learned how to not sweat the small things, and how to love more unconditionally. I was also learning how to manage a freelance business and how to stage art and photograph it. Little things that didnt seem to be doing anything in that moment, but ya know what it did? It kept me inspired. I started to follow artist and life coaches. Surrounding yourself with like minded people and showing up as if you are already a professional makes you just that.
You are worthy. You can start now. You probably have already done lots of the hard part. Just get in flow and keep practicing whatever brings you joy. Start doing something small like 10 minutes a day of listening to something uplifting and making a few notes on how you can improve on your craft.
Start acting like the person you want to be. You already are that person you just have to show up for yourself. The you inside wants to shine and when you do we will all benefit from your light. We were all specifically made with a purpose and it comes with ease. Drop who you think you are supposed to be and gravitate towards what feels good and easier. Who you are is easy to be and your soul will guide you if you get quiet enough to listen.
Love you a little bit harder and watch how quickly your cup fills <3
It's never too late to start. It's always too late to wait. - i forget who that quote is from but it has always stuck with me.
The moral of this story is: Choose your path intentionally and choose happiness. We literally have a choice. Take your power back and step into the YOU you have always been.
P.S. (I'm still learning and as my dear friend Nicole Anderson-Land, would say, "We are all just practicing together".)
