What are you creating?

Happy New Year my friends! I hope everyone is doing what they can to stay organized, happy, and relaxed.

I wanted to talk about creating a little bit. I was listening to a podcast about Gardening and Music and something that stood out in that conversation was the idea of "creating things not for a response, but for you." Each paragraph you read below is meant to make you think further about it. I have so much more I could say about each section. Just let yourself dive deep and expand on these topics.

This got me thinking about when we are trying to figure out what we want to do in life and creating doesn't only apply to art, music, or gardening. We create atmospheres in our homes, we create friendships, partnerships, family traditions, stability, meals, and experiences.

What are the paths to take when we want to be better partners, parents, friends, or children of god? When we ponder what will bring happiness and not feel like work. When we want to start a business but can't figure out what to do or what direction to wander into. I always say whatever you did when you were little that made you happy, you will still love today in some fashion. What are the things you would do if money wasn't a factor? What do you love to create even if no one saw it? Even if you got no response.

It can be exhausting when we try to do and create with the assumption it will be well received. Focusing on what will produce the most money, gain the most followers, and rack up the most sales can result in burnout and a lack of passion.

When we worry about what others will expect from us, or how we let our children down you start acting from your ego and even your body can feel tense. I find many of the times I worry about how I am going to look or be received by others, I am wrong and worry for nothing. I think most people appreciate the real you and love to hear what's on your heart and how you feel.

Do the thing that sparks a fire in your heart and don't focus on what someone else's reaction will be. Create from a place of love and joy. Everything else will fall into place as your journey unfolds. Some people will gravitate towards you and others won't. No one ever said we HAD to be liked by everyone around us. It was never promised life would be perfectly smooth. The contrast is part of it. Embrace it while shining your light bright.

Practice being the most authentic version of yourself because it's true the world already has people doing what you love to do, but none of them are you. That is your gift.

We were created to be slightly different as well as vastly different from each other. It's set up exactly the way it should be. What are you creating? I hope you create as many things as you can with the intention of joy and love for yourself and others. We get to wake up and create all day long. Choose wisely, my beautiful friends.
